So many thanks for all the efforts of parents, coaches and especially players at Clifton, Kings, Queens and Millfield on Sunday 22nd April.
Across the 4 venues, more matches were won then lost with our U14s only losing 1 out of the 7 games played between the boys and girls. From the various squads, over 20 players have been identified by external assessors and have been invited either to the High Performance Centre Moderation Day for U14s moving to U15s or for the current U15s and U16s to attend a couple of HPC sessions to see if they have progressed enough to make the transition.
The season has been a long and challenging one and we have had to face every element that the weather can throw at us. It has played havoc with many of the plans and again I give thanks to all for their patience and understanding.
On the original plans, the 6th May was identified as a final day for the season. This date was set by England Hockey. With it clashing with the Bank Holiday and with so many players (boys and girls) making themselves unavailable due to a variety of things, ranging from Duke of Edinburgh and Ten Tors expeditions to exeat home leave and to other sports including cricket, tennis, athletics and sailing, we have decided to cancel the planned session this week.
I am looking at the possibility of putting on a festival day later in the summer and by that point we may have a good idea as to what road we will follow next season in terms of squads and dates.
Have a great Summer and keep playing and enjoying hockey!
